Does anyone actually land jobs from cold portal applications anymore?

Every offer I have ever gotten came from a referral or a recruiter reaching out. The application portal increasingly feels like a black hole with extra steps. Prove me wrong?

Got my current job cold off the careers page. Rare, but it happens. Do not give up on it entirely.

Cold apps are a numbers game now. Referrals are a relationships game. Play both.
