Curious what "normal" really looks like right now, because LinkedIn makes it seem like everyone got a referral on the first try. Drop your real number, no judgment.

63 applications, 5 interviews, 1 offer. The funnel is brutal at the top.
Every offer I have ever gotten came from a referral or a recruiter reaching out. The application portal increasingly feels like a black hole with extra steps. Prove me wrong?

Cold apps are a numbers game now. Referrals are a relationships game. Play both.
Half the internet says it signals desperation, the other half says it triples recruiter reach. I have data for exactly zero of these claims. What actually happened for you?

Turned it on, recruiter messages 3x-ed. Zero downside I could measure. Turn it on.
Applied to something posted 30+ days ago. Reposted, or genuinely still hunting, or already-hired-and-forgot-to-close? Trying to figure out where to spend my limited energy.
Companies want you "immediately" and my current one holds me for two months. Half the offers evaporate before I can even join. How do you bridge the gap without burning bridges?

Negotiate buyout in the new offer, some companies will cover it. Ask early.
Keyword-stuffing to beat the ATS, then writing a human version for the human. Two resumes for two audiences. Is anyone else exhausted by performing for a parser?
You've reached the Mariana Trench. That's everything for now.
