Ghosting by a mile. A fast no is a gift by comparison.

My LinkedIn: "Open to work." My inbox: tumbleweeds and one crypto recruiter

He believes in me. Deeply. About a "web3 growth ninja" role paid in tokens. That is something, I guess.

The crypto recruiter is the pigeon that never leaves. Loyal, at least.

Offer

Got the offer. 4 months, 60+ applications, one yes. Not going to pretend I did not tear up

atGoogle · accepted

To everyone still in the trenches refreshing their inbox: it can turn around in a single email. Keep the streak alive. The no's do not accumulate into a verdict about you, they are just the cost of getting to the one yes.

Google L4 in Bangalore landed around 72 LPA total. Base was less than half of that

atGoogle

Breakdown that helped me sanity-check: base in the 40s, the rest was RSUs (4-year vest) plus a joining bonus. Public data (levels.fyi) had L4 India in the low-70s median and that matched. If a recruiter quotes you only base, ask for the full TC breakdown before you react.

The base-vs-RSU gap trips up so many first offers. Always ask for TC, not base.

You've reached the Mariana Trench. That's everything for now.
