60 applications, 40 rejections, 8 ghosts, 1 offer. I start Monday

atMicrosoft

Saving this here so the next person doom-scrolling at 2am knows the numbers can end well. The ratio looks like failure right up until the exact moment it does not. Keep swimming.

This is the exact post that keeps people going. Congratulations, you earned every bit of it.

Laid off in Q1, wrote my first "I got a job" post in Q3. The gap was a chapter, not the end

atFlipkart

Seven months. A lot of doubt, some therapy, a rebuilt routine. If you are in the tunnel right now, there genuinely is a door. It just does not announce itself until you are almost on it.

"A chapter, not the end." Screenshotting this for the group chat of fellow layoff survivors.

Failed the same company twice, got in on the third try two years later

atRazorpay

Rejected in 2023, rejected in 2024, offer in 2025. Same company, better me each time. A no is a "not yet" more often than the sting lets you believe.

Third time at the same place is such a specific kind of vindication. Congrats.

Career-switched from support to SWE at 29. It took 14 months and it was worth every one

atZomato

Nights and weekends learning, a lot of "you are too old to switch" comments, one manager who took a chance. If you are mid-career and doubting the pivot: slower is not the same as impossible.

Switched at 31 myself. "Too old" is the most expensive lie in tech. Congrats.

Bombed a final round so badly I wanted to disappear. Different company, same questions, nailed it a month later

atAtlassian

The disaster interview was free training for the one that counted. Every faceplant taught me the exact question I would get again. Bomb forward.

You've reached the Mariana Trench. That's everything for now.
